I will be at Crafty Wonderland on May 10th for their Mother's day event! Doug Fir Lounge, 830 E. Burnside, Portland, OR 11am-4pm * All Ages * Free Admission
Happy Earth Day! I thought that this would be the perfect day to put up this preview picture. It is taken from Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax" and will be part of Gallery 1988's upcoming children's book show entitled Beyond the Page. The show opens May 1st in San Francisco, California.
I am contributing a few pieces of work to Tender Loving Empire's May show entitled "Wish You Were Here". The show will consist of works displayed in their original state after being sent through the mail. Should be some really interesting art here. Opening night is Thursday, May 7th. Please stop by if you are in the area! Tender Loving Empire 1720 NW Lovejoy #109 (corner of NW 18th & Lovejoy) Portland, OR 97207
Here is one of my paintings for Gallery 1988's Beyond the Page! Mole and rat are characters from Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows". This particular scene is taken from chapter 7, "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" and I have entitled it "The Moon Lifted With Slow Majesty."
"Beyond The Page" is a group show at Gallery 1988 in San Francisco where artists re-illustrate their favorite children's books. I am contributing three pieces of work from "The Wind in the Willows", "The Lorax" and "The Little Prince". I'll post a few preview pictures next week! The show opens Friday, May 1st and runs through the 23rd. The gallery is suggesting an entrance fee of one new children's book to be donated to the San Francisco Unified School District.
