Obsolete World Is Now On Patreon!

Hello! I am pleased to announce that I now have a page on Patreon! Patreon is a crowdfunding platform that enables fans (or patrons) to pay and support artists for their work. For producers of videos, art, music, podcasts and more, Patreon is a way for creators to earn extra money and allows fans to contribute to their favorite artist’s platform. Patreon allows creators to set up monthly, subscription-style payment tiers, with different pledges for different levels of content or for various perks. For example, a patron could subscribe at various levels from $1-$100 per month and receive early access to the creator’s content, exclusive art prints, t-shirts, original artwork and more. In return, with financial assistance from kind people such as yourself, I would be able to cover the cost of my art supplies and potentially health care too. I would have more time to create a larger body of work, publish books and hopefully revisit animation, which has always been of great interest to me. With social media algorithms making it increasingly more challenging for emerging artists to share their work with the world, Patreon seems like a really great option.

You can check out some of my art as well as a few snippets from my life and creative space in the video above. If you enjoy viewing my work on the internet or if you just simply like what I do and would like to see more of it in the world, please consider subscribing here: https://www.patreon.com/obsoleteworld
Thanks for taking a look! I really appreciate your support of my art.

Fistfuls of Sky

Feeling the weight of the world recently, I set out to create a piece that would clear my mind of the constant howl and clatter that worms its way into my everyday activities. There is a slight, silly awkwardness to this monster of generous proportions standing alongside the small silhouette of a human figure. I find a calm, comfortable sadness in the pairing as well. Two unlikely travelers pausing to look skyward as a beautiful world of gold, rust and green unfolds before them in the warm glow of a late afternoon. A peaceful breeze gently pushing the world aside.
Even if only for a moment.

This original piece is now available to purchase through WOWxWOW Gallery. It is a part of the Fistfuls Of Sky group exhibition which opens this evening and will be on view

Mysterious Species Conservation

I am pleased to announce that my book, Mysterious Species Conservation, is finally finished! Thanks to all who have followed the book's path to completion. I have poured a lot of thought and love into this project and hope the book will find its way into the right publisher's hands. This may take quite some time, but I promise to post another update as soon as I have some news.

Happy Solstice

To those seeking stillness
in the chaos currently draped over
this vast system of dreamers and doers,
I encourage you to look up.
Take time to sit and marvel
the brilliant constellations of
overgrown spirits inhabiting our skies.
These giant custodians of dark passage
who plea for silence
as they furnish the world
with lighted pause.
A blanket of hope falling to shield us all
of painful words and uneasy opinions.
A voice calling out in the snow;
A quiet reminder
of some distant future
slowly threading its way through this long night
with a rare, unheralded beauty.

To The Dark And The Snow That Falls

"To The Dark And The Snow That Falls"
This new print is available to purchase in my shop. 50% of all proceeds will go to the Endangered Species Coalition. Wolves play a profound role in maintaining the health, structure and balance of ecosystems. I encourage anyone unfamiliar with their ability to transform not only plant and animal communities, but the very landscape in which they live, to watch this short video on
For more information on how wolf conservation efforts are currently playing out in the United States, I suggest reading this National Geographic interview with author Brenda Peterson: news.nationalgeographic.com/2017/06/wolf-nation-brenda-peterson-wolves
I am well aware that wolf recovery is just one of many causes currently deserving of our attention, but I believe it to be of great importance. It is also one I personally hold dear to heart, as this piece is dedicated to my lovely mother, one of the biggest advocates for wolf conservation that I know.
